1. Start with the official conversion reference

FAA Advisory Circular 61-135A describes the conversion procedures for FAA pilot certificates and Transport Canada Civil Aviation pilot licences. Use the sections relevant to your current licence and the certificate or rating you are seeking, rather than assuming that every conversion follows the same requirements.

2. Organize your current licence information

Canadian IPL conversion and other foreign licence routes
