I’m Jason E. Jacobs, an FAA pilot examiner (Designated Pilot Examiner) and the founder and president of Expert Aviation. My background spans flight training, on-demand charter, corporate aviation, and flight department management.

Practical tests & certification services
Review the authorizations below before requesting a checkride. Aircraft qualifications and scheduling availability must be confirmed with the examiner.
Practical tests
- Private Pilot: airplane single- and multi-engine land
- Instrument Rating: airplane single- and multi-engine land
- Commercial Pilot: airplane single- and multi-engine land
- Airline Transport Pilot: airplane single- and multi-engine land
- Flight Instructor: airplane single-engine and multi-engine land
- Instrument Flight Instructor: airplane single- and multi-engine land
Flight instructor exams: added ratings, renewals, and reinstatements only.
Administrative services
- SIC type ratings, SOE removal (RT), and ATP restriction removal (RT)
- Foreign pilot conversions
- Military competency (RT)
- Ground instructor: basic, advanced, and instrument (RT)
- Flight instructor renewal (RT)
- Remote pilot certificate
- Night flight limitation removal
Remote technology: available only for the administrative functions marked “RT.”
Multi-engine aircraft
For a multi-engine practical test, I must have at least five hours of pilot-in-command time in the aircraft type. Aircraft I am typically qualified for include:
- Beechcraft: BE76, BE55
- Piper: PA30, PA31, PA34, PA44
- Cessna: 300/400 series
- Diamond: DA42, DA62
- Tecnam: P2006T
If your aircraft is not listed, contact me about your aircraft type. I may already meet the requirements or be willing to obtain the necessary flight time.
